The Comptroller General NAQS, Dr. Vincent Isegbe, received His Excellency, Mr. Hocine Mezoued, the Algerian Ambassador to Nigeria, on a courtesy visit at the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss areas of mutual interest, particularly in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Algeria in agricultural trade, plant and animal quarantine, food safety, and capacity development.
Speaking during the meeting, the Comptroller-General reaffirmed NAQS’ commitment to fostering strategic international partnerships aimed at enhancing safe agricultural trade, improving phytosanitary standards, and promoting regional economic growth.
The Algerian Ambassador commended the efforts of NAQS in safeguarding Nigeria’s agricultural economy and expressed optimism towards deeper collaboration between both countries in advancing agricultural and quarantine-related initiatives.
The meeting further highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing emerging agricultural challenges and promoting sustainable trade across Africa.
