The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahra Audu, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration towards improving service delivery in the agricultural export sector and facilitating trade.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged ideas on enhancing the efficiency of agro-export processes. The DG of PEBEC shared her vision of establishing a dedicated port exclusively for agricultural produce, aimed at enabling real-time clearance of consignments, reducing bottlenecks, and promoting competitiveness in the global market.
In response, the Comptroller General of NAQS emphasized the need for the Service to have a presence at all entry and exit points of the country to effectively carry out its mandate. He noted that such presence is essential to improving trade, maintaining export quality standards, and ultimately eliminating the rejection of Nigerian agricultural exports at international borders.
The visit buttresses a mutual commitment to creating a more seamless and supportive environment for agricultural trade through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions.
