Earlier today, The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), Dr. Vincent Isegbe, attended the official inauguration of newly appointed Board Chairmen of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development. Among them was Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the newly appointed Board Chairman of NAQS.
Held in Abuja, the event was graced by the Honourable Ministers of Agriculture and Food Security and Livestock Development, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, and other distinguished stakeholders and dignitaries from the agricultural sector.
In his address, the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security urged the newly inaugurated Board Chairmen to work collaboratively to enhance food security, boost productivity, and drive innovation across their respective agencies. He emphasized the importance of strong leadership and strategic oversight in advancing the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the agricultural sector.
The CG welcomed Alhaji Abbas and looks forward to working closely with the Board Chairman , expressing confidence that his leadership will strengthen NAQS’s mandate in safeguarding Nigeria’s agricultural economy and expanding access to global markets.
