In commemoration of the International Day of Plant Health (IDPH), the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) organized a road walk aimed at sensitizing the public on the importance of plant health and the Agency’s mandate in safeguarding the nation’s agricultural economy.
The awareness walk commenced from the NAQS Headquarters, moving through major flash points within the Central Business District (CBD), through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), and back to the Headquarters.
Speaking at the end of the exercise, the Comptroller General of NAQS commended officers for their active participation and dedication towards promoting plant health awareness. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in protecting Nigeria’s agricultural resources from pests and diseases.
The CG further informed officers that the road walk serves as part of activities leading to the grand climax of the 2026 International Day of Plant Health celebration scheduled to hold tomorrow May 12 at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, and urged all officers to prepare adequately for the event
