Earlier today, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), Dr. Vincent Isegbe, received the Executive Director of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, who led a delegation of top management staff on an official visit to NAQS headquarters.
The meeting focused on addressing challenges facing Nigeria’s non-oil exports, with particular attention on the export of hibiscus to Mexico. Both agencies reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s presence in international markets by improving the standards and processes involved in agricultural exports.
Dr. Isegbe and Mrs. Ayeni underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration to resolve bottlenecks and create a more seamless export process. Over time, the NAQS and NEPC have maintained a harmonious working relationship aimed at unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s agricultural sector and driving economic growth through non-oil exports.
The two executives expressed optimism that their continued partnership will yield positive outcomes, particularly in expanding market access for Nigerian agricultural products globally.
