NAQS, NOPPMAN STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION ON ONION EXPORT FACILITATION AND PHYTOSANITARY CERTIFICATION

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), Dr. Vincent Isegbe, hosted the President of the National Onion Producers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NOPPMAN), Alh. Aliyu Isa Maitasamu, alongside other delegates of the association, at the NAQS Headquarters to deliberate on issues surrounding onion export, phytosanitary certification processes, and other collaborative measures aimed at facilitating seamless agricultural trade.

During the engagement, discussions centered on strengthening export compliance, improving access to phytosanitary certification for onion exports, and enhancing partnerships to boost Nigeria’s agricultural export competitiveness in international markets.

The Comptroller General welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed NAQS’ commitment to working closely with stakeholders across the agricultural value chain. He assured the association of continued collaboration and support in addressing challenges affecting onion exports while promoting trade facilitation in line with national and international phytosanitary standards.
