As part of the Comptroller General’s Human Capital Development, the Zonal Commander of the South west zone, ACG (Dr) Joy Ichue Ivbade, enabled officers from the zone for a comprehensive training program at a cutting-edge soilless farm.
This initiative aims to equip inspectors with the latest knowledge and skills in modern agricultural practices, specifically in vegetables cultivation, inspection and food safety for export.
The training, which commenced on Monday 30th June to Friday 4th July, 2025 covered key areas such as nursery management, sorting, grading, food safety, integrated pest management and regulatory compliance. This enables NAQS inspectors to effectively monitor and support the farming of vegetable in Nigeria, ensuring compliance with international standards and promoting excellence in agricultural production.
“The training of our farm inspectors at this state-of-the-art soilless farm is a strategic move to enhance our capacity to regulate and support the agricultural sector,” said the Zonal Commander.
