EXPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR ANIMAL AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS
1. Apply for export permit to the CVO, V&PCS, FMARD
2. Notify NAQS of export permit details
3. Declaration of animals / consignment for NAQS inspection
4. Quarantine of live animals/consignment as the case may be is at the
owners expense
5. Lab analysis and certification at the owners cost
6. Obtain Quarantine clearance for export
7. Animals/Consignment may be rejected for export.
EXPORT PROCEDURE AND DOCUMENTATION FOR ANIMALS AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS
1. Apply for import permit to the CVO, V&PCS, FMARD
2. Application should contain purpose of importation, details of the
importer (local & foreign address), animals, consignment (animal
products, by-products, biologics etc.), and other information
3. Attachments to the application:
• Export permit obtained from the importing country
• International Veterinary Health certificate from the Nigeria
• CITES export permit obtained from Federal Ministry of
Environment for Wildlife & endangered specie
• Any other document as may be required by Nigeria and
importing country.
