The Legal Unit sees to it that all actions and activities of the NAQS are carried out in line with the provisions of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (Establishment) Act 2018, and other relevant laws, rules and regulations. The Unit renders legal advice and guidance on matters relating to the interpretation of the NAQS Act and other regulations administered by the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service. It drafts, reviews and vets contract documents, protocols, MoUs, agreements, employee policies and all binding instruments to be entered into by the NAQS, and ensures that they are in harmony with all statutory or legal requirements. The Unit also represents the Agency in litigation.
